Electrical contractors for a university halls of residence refurbishment

The word hybrid could be good for this project for our client, the University of Cumbria. It encompassed an educational setting, commercial time pressures, and some of the electrical services we also use in home environments. The refurbishment of the accommodation area on their Lancaster campus was completed on time and on budget.

The University of Cumbria’s campuses are in some of the country’s top locations, including two World Heritage Sites. In fact, they’re the UK’s only university to be set in a national park. Alongside Carlisle and the internationally renowned Lake District, historic Lancaster and buzzing London all bring unique and fantastic opportunities for students.

Their Lancaster campus is set in beautiful parkland just a short walk from the city centre. On-site facilities include a sports complex with floodlit artificial turf pitch, Café Martineau, Snack Zone and The View restaurant, a chapel, well-stocked library, halls of residence and students’ union. They also recently unveiled a brand new teaching block housing a lecture theatre, classrooms and study/communal space.
